FAQ

FAQ’s About Carpet Cleaning

Will my carpet get dirty more quickly after it has been cleaned?

No! Some of the old carpet cleaning solutions contained soaps that re-soiled carpets quickly if all the soap was not rinsed out. We use a soap free cleaning solution that is indoor air quality approved and environmentally safe.

Will having my carpet cleaned destroy my soil and stain treatment?

No! Stain warranties are warranted for 5 years. Carpet cleaning should not affect these warranties. Soil treatments can be removed through normal foot traffic. These soil treatments should be reapplied every 3 -4 years regardless of the number of carpet cleanings.

Will hot water extraction (steam cleaning) damage my carpet?

No! Hot water extraction is the method preferred by Shaw Industries (the largest carpet manufacturer) and many other carpet manufacturers. It is considered by many to be the best method of removing embedded soil and other contaminants.

Should I wait until my carpet shows soiling before I have it cleaned?

All residential carpet should be professionally cleaned a minimum of every 12 to 18 months. Allowing dry soils to build up in the carpet pile scars pile fiber allowing it to take on a dull, dirty hue. This permanent fiber damage will give the impression of soiling even after cleaning.

Is it possible to clean my carpet too often?

No! The more often a carpet is cleaned, the longer it will maintain its original appearance. It is an excellent idea to clean high traffic areas and areas of heavy soiling several times per year using a do-it-yourself hot water extraction machine between professional cleanings.

Why do some stains that go away after carpet cleaning but they return a few days later?

Most recurring spots or stains can be traced to spills that have soaked deep into the carpet backing or pad. As the carpet dries the moisture moves to the top of the carpet to evaporate and will pull with it any soiling from the pad or backing. These spots can be successfully cleaned using a rinse agent and sub surface extraction techniques.

How long will it take my carpets to dry after cleaning?

Whenever possible the carpet should not be put back into service until dry to the touch. The length of time will vary from a few hours to 24 hrs. depending on the drying conditions. To speed drying time, we recommend the use of fans to blow dry air across the carpet.

Do I have to move all my furniture out of the room?

We only ask that you move small items and breakables to a safe place prior to cleaning. Large pieces of furniture like sofas, tables and recliners can be safely moved from one side of the room to the other during the cleaning process using furniture skidders. After cleaning protective tabs or styrofoam blocks are placed under the legs.

Is your company green?

Yes, we use ‘green’ products to clean carpet, furniture, and ceramic tile . Your carpet and furniture will be safe for your children and pets.
